Series 2035. Chungking Pointed Round
Chungking Bristles (Bristles from hogs raised in the region of the Chinese city of Chungking) considered to be the best for oil painting, having long, deep flags. Theoretically the longer the flags the better the bristle. Used mainly for oil, acrylic and hobby ceramics. Interlocked ‘curved’ heads allow retention of shape. These superior quality bristles are less likely to ‘splay’ or spread in use.
Typically, the round brush in bristle would be used for drawing and blocking-in. Many of the Old Masters would have used this shape. Rounds are popular for landscapes, portraiture, still life and so on. Larger rounds are ideal for laying on the paint, whilst the smaller rounds are perfect for highlights and finer details. These are ideal signature brushes too.
