"My name is Atanas Matsoureff, water colour artist, realist, magic realist and self taught artist. I was born in 1975 in the Bansko, Bulgaria.

In 1994 I graduated from the woodcarving class in my native town and discovered watercolour as a means of expression.

I paint from nature and I bow before the beauty and force of nature and the simple ordinary things around us. I try to catch the spirit of each material thing and to touch beyond reality.

My watercolour brush should be part of my hand. I don’t think about it while I use it, because I know it well. It’s not only about quality of hair, fine point and strength but the feeling when it lies in the hand or moves on the surface. It’s a beautiful hand-made product. It’s a Rosemary’s brush.”
